I have been known to mention Google AdWords from time to time. In fact I first came across the program back in 2009, a few years after it was a really big deal. That was my initiation into internet marketing, and it was kind of trial by fire. While all the hype has died down, AdWords is still an excellent option to use for getting leads for your down line.
In case you didn’t see it in my article, Three easy ways to promote your Network Marketing business today, AdWords is a PPC advertising program that allows you to set up ad campaigns to promote your business. The acronym PPC, means pay-per-click, and it’s a model that several advertising programs are now using.
How it works
The way it works is that you do research for the keyword or keyword phrase, known as long tail, that best describes your business. More so, it’s what are the words or terms that people are looking for when they search Google for a product like yours? There is a tool that Google provides that will help you do this research and suggest keywords for you based on your product. You are then ready to start writing a short ad that will attract people looking for work at home opportunities.
Your ad then appears in several places in Google’s network, including on the Google search page and on people’s websites and blogs that have similar interests. Viewers will then see your ad and can click on it. The ad that appears on other folks blog, are from a result of them signing up with the Google Adsense program. I’ll be covering that program in more detail in another article. You have some control over what part of the Google network the ads are placed on, as well as how often the ads appear.
You fund your campaign by adding money to your account. Additionally, they will ask you for certain personal pieces of information for tax purposes. The way that you control the amount of times that an ad is place, is based on how you bid on those keywords that you researched and used earlier. Without getting into too much detail, you can control your budget by bidding on higher or lower targeted keywords.
There is a very useful help section, where Google explains how to best use the program. The one caveat to this, is that there is limited support if you can’t find the answer to your questions by reading the help text.
Conclusion
The main attraction for using pay-per-click advertising is that you can do it on a relatively low-budget. The amount of impressions, or times that your ad shows up, is based on your budget. However, as I’ll always mention, every bit helps and will allow you to grow your business. Besides free advertising, if you can find it, AdWords and programs like it will be the cheapest route to take to advertise. And as a network marketer whose operating a home based business, you need to be budget conscience no matter how much or how little your budget may be.
