As an Internet and Network Marketer I conduct most of my business online. As I’ve mentioned in many of my other articles, the Internet has changed the game for Network Marketing. It’s now easier than ever to find and communicate with potential prospects and customers. However, there are still some people who like to do it the old school way, and talk with folks face to face. So, with all the talk about Online Marketing these days, are the Offline Marketers missing out?
Offline Marketing
There is something to be said about promoting your business and product to people face to face. Being able to talk to and form relationships with customers and people in your organization is one of the best skill sets that you can develop in Network Marketing. If you feel comfortable doing that, then it goes a long way towards ultimately developing your business.
There could be a lot to marketing online. Having to be familiar with concepts like, Blogging, SEO Optimization, Lead Generation, Email Marketing and more, can really deter people.
The problem with only doing marketing offline, is that you could be missing out on a huge opportunity to get prospects. Everyone is on Social Media these days, so even if you don’t have a website, or know the concepts that I mentioned above, at the very least being on Facebook could help put the word out.
Online Marketing
In a world where information travels faster than it ever has, using the Internet to promote your business just makes sense. You have access to people across the entire world that you can potentially promote to. It’s one of the only platforms that comes to mind, where you can make money while you sleep.
That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t has its problems, or presents issues. Remember what I just said about having to learn the concepts of Online Marketing? It takes time, and practice to do it right. While that may be a problem for some people, for others it’s something much different. It allows you to hide behind your computer and not form relationships with your organization or potential prospects. This is where offline marketing has the advantage.
Which one should you do
While I do most of my marketing online, I also haven’t forgotten the advantages of talking to people face to face. Professionalism in both areas will be your friend. You can spam people, or be rude, talking to them face to face, just as you can on the Internet. When done correctly, my advice would be to incorporate both into your strategy.
Don’t limit yourself to just one area, and allow yourself to be pushed. Learning how to market online, can help you with when those dates aren’t filling up for those parties. Furthermore, you could miss out on local prospects, that are right in your backyard, if all you are focusing on is recruiting that guy across the country.
So, which is better? That depends on who you ask, but there are benefits to doing both. If not, then you could be missing out.
