Should You Buy Network Marketing Leads

I used to scour the internet looking for ways to promote my network marketing business. One of the ideas that I came across was buying leads from lead generation or marketing companies. Thinking that buying leads was the way to go I signed up for a reputable company that specialized in MLM leads. I was ready to pull the trigger on the order when I stopped and thought that I should maybe look around for a second opinion. That’s when I came across multiple blogs from people saying that it’s a bad idea. So which group is correct, the people who are for it, or the one’s that against it?

The truth

I’m from the school of thought that buying leads is both a good and a bad idea. Wait, before you tell me that I’m cowering between the two and playing it safe, let me explain. I think that it all depends on your goals, budget and the type of business (product & compensation plan) that you are trying to promote. Furthermore, it is important to do your homework before making a decision to buy a list.

Many companies will offer false hype and claim that a list is the end all be all solution for your problems. This of course is to get you to buy the list, and sell you on the fact that you need a list to grow your business. But not just a list – their list to be exact. I want to point out for the record here now, that yes, to grow your business you do need a list.

The best way to get a list is to generate the leads yourself. This is done by creating lead generating forms and landing pages where the potential prospects will fill in their information. The main advantage to this is that you can qualify your leads and establish a relationship with them in a way that you can’t do with a pre-paid list. Additionally, the list only belongs to you, and 500 other marketers won’t have access to the same list. The caveat to this is that it will take you some time to develop this list as you’re going to need to know SEO principles and internet marketing techniques.

Now, let me back up and say this as well. I’m in no way against buying list from a reputable that knows and has experience creating leads. This is where your homework comes into play, as you will want to make sure that you are getting a good list of leads. Do not buy cheap leads, where you get 1,000 contacts for five dollars or anything like that. The opposite side of the equation is overpaying for premium leads. Buying leads saves time, and can boost your efforts in growing your business at a good pace.

Leads from companies like Leaders Club are idea for a few reasons. When you purchase leads from them, they only share your leads with three other people who sign up for them. This is necessary to keep expenses down, including the cost of the leads. It is many times better than sharing the same list with hundreds or even thousands of other folks. Secondly, you can get fresh leads that are gathered for you within 24 hours of receiving them from potential clients. Lastly, how experienced is the organization that you want to buy from, with dealing with network marketing leads in particular? Can you see examples of the landing pages and forms that they are using? How detailed is the information that they are gathering from the prospects? Leaders Club has over 20 years of experience, and you can see all of this information!

The point is, this is the type of stuff that you need to be aware of when researching and choosing a company to buy from.

The secret

The biggest secret that these lead generation companies don’t tell is that a list alone won’t solve your problems. You need to be educated on how to work with your leads to convert them to team members. How do you write proper emails? What do you say to them to get them to convert? Do you give it your best sales pitch and then call it a day? Getting leads delivered to your inbox daily is great, but if you don’t know what to do with them, you’re just spinning your wheels.

The conclusion

There it is folks, and now you know that I’m not indecisive. You just need to do what makes sense for your business, and then execute your plan. There will always be people on both sides of the fence to discourage you from doing it one way or the other, but you know what your strengths and weaknesses are and should adapt accordingly. If you are an internet marketing machine, then build your own lists. If you aren’t then either become educated on how to do it, or become educated on how choose a company that you can buy a good list from. Hopefully I was able to help a bit with the latter. Now let’s go work on some leads…
