Social Media has now become a mainstay marketing strategy for most home based and small businesses owners. It’s a cost-effective way to get the word out about your business, or your products and services. So, how do you get the most out of your Social Marketing campaign? Here are some tips to help set you in the right direction.
Branding – When it comes to marketing on Twitter and Instagram, creating and using a unique identity for your company can set you apart from the crowd. More so, make sure that you use a profile name, or handle, that either matches or comes close to your brand name. It would be easier for someone to remember WAHLeaders, than it would be to remember brad1577.
Facebook Page – Speaking of branding, a Facebook page would help establish your brand and create a more professional appearance. Furthermore, it allows you to post strictly about your business in ways that you wouldn’t be able to on your personal page. Your personal page can then be reserved for posting things about how being in business has affected your personal life. For example, posting pictures of trips or conferences that you’ve attended.
Diversify Networks – Most people who I know, prefer to use Facebook over Twitter. It’s the same with contacts that I come across in my business as well. By only choosing to market on one platform, you are limiting yourself from what could be other potential prospects. Learn how to use Twitter, Instagram and the other social networks. Use a Social Manager Tool like Hootsuite to post to multiple networks. Keep your branding consistent across all of your networks.
Curate Content - This one will help you out tremendously if you follow it. Give your followers something that offers them value. Instead of posting your link or pitching your opportunity 10 times a day, post some content that will help the reader in some sort of way. If your Network Marketing company sells makeup, then find an article about how to properly apply makeup, as an example. If you offer food mixes, then post recipes or other helpful food facts. Sites like Buffer are great for content curation, and some allow you to even schedule your posts.
YouTube – Ok, so maybe this one isn’t really considered a social network, but I wanted to mention it here because it is a powerful platform to market on. YouTube is actually the second biggest search engine on the Internet. And, because Google owns YouTube, they are very much in love with using it to promote content to it’s readers. If you do a search for a Network Marketing company, chances are good that you will see a YouTube video on the first or second page of the search rankings. These video’s are ranking higher than anyone’s personalized business page that they get with their Direct Sales company. This would also be a compelling reason to create a Google Plus business page as well.
Social Media can create a lot of opportunities for your business, but it’s going to take time and effort. Some last tidbits of advice would be to create a schedule for posting content, or consider sourcing your Social Marketing to someone else, if you just don’t have time. Staying consistent and posting regularly is going to be important for gaining and keeping momentum.
If you haven’t included Social Media in your marketing, or just haven’t taken it seriously, then you should start. Following these tips should help you get a little more out of your campaigns.
